Although the Green New Deal deserves a permanent place atop the ash heap of history, it remains a top priority for the Democratic Socialists of America.

To its credit, the DSA has prominently displayed the “Green New Deal” as one of its three “campaign priorities” for many years on the front page of its website.

“The climate crisis is an emergency. The world’s top scientists are saying we have little time to get off fossil fuels,” declared the DSA long ago.

Thus, “We fight for a Green New Deal because it’s the only plan that meets the scale of the crisis, one that puts people and planet over profit to build a more just and sustainable economy.”

On the ground, the DSA has organized “local chapters” and formed “environmental justice coalitions” under the banner of “ecosocialism” to “tackle” the “global nature of capitalism-driven climate change.”

Most recently, the DSA redoubled its unabashed support of the GND when it released its policy platform called Workers Deserve More.

Under the pillar of “thriving working class communities,” the DSA lists the GND, stating that,........
