If there is any glimmer of light amid the darkness in Minneapolis, it’s that more conservatives are beginning to object when President Donald Trump’s administration pushes beyond the limits of good sense and the law.

Trump’s former vice president, Mike Pence, recently wrote an essay for The Free Press in which he called to account the federal government as well as state and local authorities for the tragedy in Minneapolis. He also called for a full investigation of the shooting death of Alex Pretti involving federal border agents.

“The situation in Minnesota is a warning,” Pence wrote. “The American people are watching, and they are right to expect better.”
