On Jan. 24, federal immigration agents killed yet another protester in Minneapolis, just weeks after the death of Renee Good.

Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care unit nurse, was fatally shot by Border Patrol agents as he protested Immigration and Customs Enforcement's brutal crackdown in Minnesota. While federal law enforcement officers claimed he was planning to use a gun against agents, bystander video tells a different story.

In recent weeks, congressional Democrats have come out against President Donald Trump’s use of force to round up immigrants and intimidate the people of Minneapolis. They are now threatening to withhold funding from ICE and plunge the country into yet another government shutdown.

I’d argue that it’s time for them to take it a step further. It’s time for them to band together and demand the abolition of ICE – or, at the very least, drastic reforms of the agency.

In some respects, Democrats have had a clear anti-ICE message that shows their willingness to stand up to Trump and Republicans. On Jan. 24, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Senate Democrats........
