Bad Bunny's halftime show proves Latino culture is American culture

Bad Bunny’s highly anticipated halftime performance during Super Bowl 60 on Sunday, Feb. 8, was spectacular to watch – both because of the artistry and the message that it sent.

Amid a set list full of the Puerto Rican artist’s greatest hits, performances from Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga (as well as surprise cameos from Pedro Pascal and Cardi B) and some political statements, Bad Bunny took on the task of reminding viewers that Puerto Rican culture is American culture – and that he has completely earned his spot in the zeitgeist.

Bad Bunny, whose given name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has had a monumental February.

His larger-than-life Super Bowl performance followed a historic win at the 2026 Grammy Awards, where his album “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” became the first Spanish-language album to win album of the year. He is the third Latino act to achieve this........
