Trump's 'America First' can't survive a forever war in Iran
I voted for President Donald Trump for a lot of reasons: I hoped he'd secure the border, lower taxes, improve the economy and bolster our military. He's addressed all of these things in his first few months – some better than others.
One thing I didn't vote for was a forever war in Iran. And it's starting to feel like we're headed for one. Hostilities began Feb. 28.
The U.S. House passed a resolution June 3 that would end Trump's conflict if passed in the Senate. Four Republicans joined the Democrats on the vote, which Trump slammed as "unpatriotic."
On June 1, Trump discussed peace talks with Iran after saying earlier that day on social media that the Islamic Republic "really wants to make a deal" with his administration.
"I don't care if they're over, honestly," Trump told CNBC's Eamon Javers. "I really don't care. I couldn't care less. If they're over, they're over. If they're not … I think (Iran) took too much time."
Well, Mr. President, I do care – about whether peace talks survive, about where this war is heading and, most important, about when you're going to get back to America First.
Trump's forever war is........
