Will Megyn Kelly Kindly Shut the Heck Up?
Once upon a time, Megyn Kelly sure seemed sane.
Those days are past us. Instead, she seems to be flirting with the Tucker Carlson/Candace Owens wing of the right best known for being absolutely bonkers. Still, Kelly does her best to seem like she's not as nuts as her fellow travelers, but honestly, I'm not buying it, and we'd all be better if she, along with the rest of that cohort, would just shut up.
Her latest nonsense was to try to pretend that military actions in Iran are on behalf of either Israel or Iran itself.
"No one should have to die for a foreign country. I don't think those four service members died for the United States. I think they died for Iran or for Israel." She went on to blame Mark Levin, Ben Shapiro, and other commentators, claiming this is their war.
Honestly, no one needs that flavor of stupid in their lives.
Look, I get that not everyone is in favor of these operations. I am, even though I'm generally not a fan of military adventurism. I'm in favor of this because Iran has been hostile toward Americans since 1979. They've killed thousands of Americans throughout the world and have been knee-deep in numerous terrorist attacks carried out since the Islamic regime took power.
To pretend that America has no stake in this is nonsense. To say that this is at the behest of Israel or even the Iranians is even dumber.
Iran wants a nuclear weapon. If they were a nation beset by massive enemies bent on destroying them, I could understand why. Instead, they were the regional power that isn't really threatened by anyone beyond the United States. The only other nations that might have were friendly, mostly because of Iran's hostility toward the United States. They didn't need a nuclear capability for much of anything.
Except that much of their foreign policy revolved around supporting terrorism.
They wanted a nuke, and they didn't want it for themselves. They wanted to hand it off to Hamas or Hezbollah. They wanted it for their Houthi rebel buddies. They wanted to see it detonate in Tel Aviv or New York, then dance in the streets as their enemies burned at the hands of their proxies.
That's what this is about.
It's also about nearly 50 years of Iran thinking they were above being held accountable for their evil. It's about thinking they could poke the American bear without any repercussions.
That's not because of Iran, Israel, Mark Levin, or anyone else.
That's because Iran forgot its place in the world, just as Megyn Kelly has forgotten ours.
Nearly a year ago, I pointed out how much of our problems internationally are because we failed to be the "brutal Americans" that a writer at The Atlantic was upset this country was becoming.
Iran is seeing the brutal Americans who aren't going to drop a few bombs, go home, and pretend they made the world safe for freedom without actually doing anything. Instead, we're the brutal Americans who value lethality in our military, rather than diversity.
Megyn, honey, you're a talking head who forgot who her audience was. Please do the world a favor and shut up for a while, at least until you remember that the people who you're catering to are pathetic wastes of talent and oxygen.
