Something Strange Happened on the Way to the Genocidal Apartheid
Israelis are a happy people.
When we were growing up, our family vacations revolved around my dad’s chemistry conventions. Wherever the chemists met, we went for our summer break. One year, we found ourselves in Philadelphia. We arrived at our Holiday Inn room a little early, and a woman was just finishing her work there. We made some small talk, and she asked where we lived. As nobody knows where Wilmette, Illinois, is, we always said, “Chicago”. “Chicago?” she asked, as she made a motion with her hands as if she was firing a submachine gun. Her knowledge and opinion of Chicago ended some 40 years earlier than our arrival, when Al Capone and his generation were shooting the place up.
According to world opinion, Israel is a terrible place, and Israelis are a terrible people. If you were to join some blue-haired freaks at Columbia, they would relate how Israel is still performing a genocide in Gaza, though the IDF kills a couple of Nukhba terrorists a week. They will intone that Israel is still causing a famine, while pictures from Gaza require two frames apiece, as Gazans have become so fat from the one ton per person of aid that Israel has allowed into the Strip. They will say that Israel is involved in ethnic cleansing, while every Israeli knows that if he or she needs a pharmacist or doctor, odds are that it will be an Israeli Arab who takes care of them. And on and on. The left has created a mega-bogeyman to reinforce its natural Jew hatred and make Israel a pariah state. I almost forgot “apartheid” in a country where over 10 percent of its parliament (Knesset) members are from the supposedly disenfranchised Arabs.
One aspect of the Jewish calendar (and by no means unique to it) is the cycle of the year. Snow outside? Chanukah must be approaching. It’s Spring? Let’s get ready for Passover. And as it is now Fall, it’s definitely football season and even in........
