Editorial: The cost of fear

We are still mostly, thank goodness, a society that recoils at senseless violence. When it occurs, we still feel moved to say: This is not who we are.
That’s our gut response to the news that a Hudson Valley food delivery driver who stopped to ask for directions was shot in the back, reportedly while trying to get away from the belligerent homeowner from whom he’d sought help.
