Commentary: Go all in on energy projects before federal incentives expire

The Trump administration is sending a troubling message to communities across America: You’re on your own when it comes to building the energy future you deserve.
The so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill” championed by President Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress is actually pretty ugly. It slashes critical funding for clean energy, grid upgrades and modern infrastructure. Similarly, Trump’s Department of Energy recently announced the termination of billions of dollars of previously awarded grants, nearly $200 million of which were working to create jobs, lower costs and develop cutting-edge energy innovations in the Capital Region. For upstate New York — and especially the Capital Region — that means fewer resources to power the industries driving our economy forward.
