Commentary: The SAVE Act would erode America's hard-won voting rights

Women won the right to vote in 1920 with the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The suffragist movement, which had fought for the vote for more than 70 years, continued its work on voting rights by forming the League of Women Voters.
The league’s mission and philosophy have been steady over the past century: to encourage, inform and assist voters in exercising their right to vote, to provide voters with nonpartisan, factual information so they can make informed choices, and to advocate for government efficiency and transparency.
