The gap between haves and have-nots is a permanent feature of our world. Some of the time, it is manageable by the haves. Sometimes not. When it isn’t, revolution is in the air.

We don’t have a history of revolution in our county, but there was a time, not so very long ago, that a soft one might have occurred. The year was 2016. Bernie Sanders, running for president as a lifelong socialist and independent senator from Vermont, was offering a simple choice. Whose side are you on — that of the billionaires, or the working people?
