Group snowshoe excursion offers companionship in outdoors

With fresh snow on the ground last weekend, I was longing to get outside to enjoy winter a little.
I found good company on a snowshoe excursion sponsored by ECOS: The Environmental Clearinghouse*, a nonprofit based in Schenectady County. The organization offers outings year-round – wildflower walks in the spring, kayak outings in the summer, hikes in the fall, and snowshoes or cross-country ski trips in the winter.
