The Air India Crash

As I understand it, the latest report is that investigators are looking at the possibility that a fire in the plane’s tail might have affected electric power.

Generally when the power stops, a backup generator kicks in.

But when the power cuts off during the beginning of takeoff, it’s very dangerous, because the aircraft needs power to rise quickly. A sudden loss of electricity, leading to fuel cutoff, and leading to loss of engine thrust, can lead to the plane not rising, and crashing into surrounding buildings.

So it’s possible, that a loss of electricity caused the crash.

You can have a very sophisticated apparatus. State of the art. But if power cuts off at a crucial moment, the apparatus can fail.
