As long as the US and Israel were fighting together against Iran, they shared the spotlight as allies.

But now that the US has stopped fighting (and is trying to reach a deal with Iran), while Israel is still fighting (against Hezbollah), the spotlight is on Israel.

As the US withdraws, Israel is emerging as a powerful player. It already has rebuffed suggestions from the US to withdraw from Southern Lebanon. And Israel is just waiting for the opportunity to wipe out........
