I recently had the honor of meeting Dr. Miriam Adelson at the first annual “Israel Hayom Summit’ in NYC a few months ago. Miriam is an Israeli-American physician, businesswoman, philanthropist, multibillionaire and a prominent conservative political mega donor. Just recently, she gave $40 million to the Republicans’ House and Senate super political action committees, boosting the party’s war chest as it fights to maintain control of both chambers. The donation included $30 million to a super PAC tied to Senate Republican leaders, her largest single contribution yet to the Senate Leadership Fund and another $10 million to its House counterpart, the Congressional Leadership Fund.

She is the widow of casino magnate Sheldon Adelson of Blessed Memory, the founder and former CEO of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. Through the Adelson Family Charitable Foundation, she has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to Jewish and Israeli causes, including Taglit-Birthright Israel and Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center. After her husband’s death in 2021, she and her family took over majority control of Las Vegas Sands. The company operates major integrated resorts in Singapore and Macao.
