Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s government is currently drafting legislation to ban British trade with Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria. Whitehall officials still softly whisper that commerce with Israel “inside the 1967 lines” will remain unaffected. But this distinction is pure fiction. Both Labour Friends of Israel and Burnham’s own diplomats have already conceded the quieter reality: a targeted settlement embargo cannot be policed without transforming into a de facto boycott of the entire Jewish state. Commercial banks will never spend fortunes proving a specific shipping crate never touched Ma’ale Adumim or Ariel. Consequently, imposing a chilling economic effect against the State of Israel is the explicit goal behind this move.

History has proven that intelligence alliances cannot survive one-way morality plays. If London chooses to elevate a “progressive” party fashion into a grinding economic siege of Israel, Jerusalem must respond by turning intelligence cooperation into leverage. Hence, as an effective countermeasure, Mossad should immediately freeze operational collaboration with MI5 and MI6 until this hostile embargo is permanently discarded.

British diplomats have long forgotten the historical origin of their security debt to the early Zionists. In August 1945, future Jerusalem Mayor Teddy Kollek personally walked an MI5 officer to a clandestine Irgun camp near Binyamina to facilitate a British raid. Reuven Shiloah—Mossad’s founding chief— fed London with the identities of Jewish militants plotting to bomb the Colonial Office. Decades later, during ‘The Troubles,’ Mossad operations chief Rafi Eitan confirmed to British broadcasters that he personally briefed Margaret Thatcher’s Home Office, offered joint operations against the Provisional IRA, and even gave access to Mossad’s secret Negev training facilities to the SAS. Nonetheless, eighty-one years after Binyamina, a short-sighted Labour cabinet treats Israel as a moral contaminant while still expecting those same Israeli operatives to keep........
