Religious Zionism Party leaves mainstream behind

Avraham Zarbiv, one of the two candidates Bezalel Smotrich had earmarked for a reserved slot on the Religious Zionism Party slate, announced this week that he was withdrawing his candidacy, explaining that he wanted to remain “part of all of Am Yisrael.”

His decision comes against the backdrop of an internal selection process that points to a significant shift in who the Religious Zionism Party now represents.
