We want to live in peace.  They want to kill us.  If we lose, we die.  If they lose, there will be peace.  If we surrender, all is lost.  If they surrender, the reconciliation and reconstruction can commence.

After October 7 and the war with Iran, what was relatively clear previously has now become vividly obvious.

We have no choice but to continue to a successful and victorious end.  The alternative is gruesome annihilation in the most debased manner.  And as Israel goes, so goes Western civilization.

The only way to achieve peace is to win the war.  Decisively.

All lifelines available to Iran and its proxies must be withdrawn.  Cyprus having been attacked, the EU must fulfill its Article 5 obligations and join the war.  If Spain and Ireland demur, abandon them to their isolation. The Gulf States that were shelled must respond with appropriate force.  Even the Asian countries whose economic stability is threatened by the unlawful blockade of Hormuz should become part of the coalition.

If President Trump is too polarizing a figure to build such a federation of like-minded allies, let him delegate to Rubio or Pompeo or some other consensus builder and let a real alliance for peace, an actual United Nations, with the resolution, courage, and determination absent in the current iteration, act decisively against terror and evil.

Once victory is achieved, reconciliation and reeducation can commence.  Denazification took years. Deradicalization of Islam can be accomplished with the assistance of Muslims who reject the jihad of violence.  The strain of Islam that has brought the world to this critical juncture can be addressed and eliminated through the same kind of education and indoctrination that engendered it.  If it takes a generation, so be it.

But first victory must be achieved and maintained. If you have them by the throats, their hearts will follow.

I know exactly how unrealistic and unachievable this sounds.  But it is far less fantastic than sending billions of dollars to a regime pledged to annihilate us in the hope that their success and our pliability will persuade them to be nice. It is significantly less fanciful than granting political power or statehood to radical kleptocrats who pay blood money to terrorists. It is notably less quixotic than persisting in the same tired old policies, cowed by spurious allegations of Islamophobia, in the expectation that their behavior will change.

President Trump has opened the door to a new world order.  We must not let the Teheran Tuckers of the world derail it.

If the EU as presently constituted is irredeemable, then reach out to compliant and sympathetic political parties in each country and empower them to pressure the current adherents of temporization and appeasement and persuade the populace eager for new leadership that their way has failed.  Similarly, shut down the failed United Nations and salvage the useful parts for the new coalition for freedom (and the rest as residences for the deserving homeless).  Just as it is pointless to wait for Iran to change itself, it is futile to expect anything of value to develop internally at the corrupt UN.

October 7 changed the world.  The Israeli response showed that defeat is not inevitable.  President Trump’s leadership has demonstrated that the West is not a paper tiger and that virtue, backed by power and will, can defeat the malevolent forces of hatred and terror.

We really can’t afford to let this moment pass without trying to seize a decisive victory and a sturdy and enduring peace.
