Can the Abraham Accords Deliver Lasting Peace in the Middle East?

From Confrontation to Cooperation

The Middle East has long been associated with conflict, political instability, and deep historical divisions. For decades, many believed that normalization between Israel and several Arab states was politically impossible. However, the signing of the Abraham Accords in 2020 challenged that assumption, marking one of the most significant diplomatic breakthroughs in the region’s recent history. Six years later, an important question remains: Can the Abraham Accords truly become the foundation for lasting peace in the Middle East?

In my opinion, the Abraham Accords represent far more than a series of diplomatic agreements. They symbolize a shift in regional thinking—from confrontation to cooperation. While these agreements cannot resolve every political dispute overnight, they have demonstrated that dialogue, mutual interests, and pragmatic diplomacy can create opportunities that decades of hostility could not.

From Normalization to Practical Cooperation
