Let’s Talk About the F-Word

(No, not that one. Stay with me.)

Let’s be honest—you saw the headline and had a pretty good idea where this was going.

And you’re not entirely wrong.

We are going to talk about the F-word. Just… not the one you expected.

Not long ago, certain words were clearly out of bounds in public life.

Today, they’ve become conversational punctuation—heard in politics, entertainment, school hallways, and sometimes, uncomfortably, even around the Shabbos table.

What once shocked now barely registers. The so-called F-bomb has gone from edgy to ordinary.

This isn’t just a linguistic shift. It’s a cultural one.

And instead of just complaining about it—which nobody really enjoys—I’d like to suggest something more constructive: a reclamation project.

My Personal F-Word Confession

I’ll start with a confession: I have a favorite F-word. Actually, two.

The first is Farbrengen.
