Congestion pricing could spell doom for Hochul like term limits did for Christine Quinn (opinion)

Gov. Kathy Hochul isn’t the only one to blame for the heinous congestion pricing tax that was set to go into effect on midnight Sunday.

The plan has been moving through government for years, pushed along under the auspices of Hochul’s predecessor, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and former Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Numerous state and city lawmakers have thrown their support to congestion pricing over the years. Plenty of advocacy and community groups as well.

Heck, you can even go back to the years when Mayor Michael Bloomberg tried to push congestion pricing before the proposal, like other of Bloomberg’s hopes and dreams, was summarily crushed by then-Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver.

But when the history of New York City congestion pricing is written, it’s going to be Hochul who’s........
