Ageing bodies: Rediscovering adventure across ages

I stepped out with my wife recently for an evening walk, armed with umbrellas. The clouds threatened to pour as I reluctantly followed her for a quick stroll through the fair set up within the complex. We were still at the fete, digging into savouries, when it started raining. I stopped myself in time from blaming my wife for our predicament. I was different in my younger days.

I would happily cycle through torrential downpours while returning from school. We would float paper boats down the drains, drenched by the falling drops, to see whose boat would move the farthest before sinking.

I was also adventurous. One afternoon, a friend and I decided to explore the world around us from the top of the colony water tank. It took us some time as we cautiously stepped up the iron ladder. Our efforts were rewarded by the most beautiful view........
