Lord Krishna, in the Bhagavad Gita (7.16), explains that four kinds of virtuous people turn to Him in devotion: “The distressed, the inquisitive, the seeker of wealth, and the wise.” While each of them is noble, He declares that the wise devotee holds a special place: “All these are indeed noble, but the wise one is as My own Self.
Established in Me through steady yoga, he dwells in Me — the supreme goal.” (7.18) He further adds, “The steadfast devotee, who is ever united with Me through single-minded yoga, is the best of all.
