What You Need to Know: Despite increased production of Su-35 and Su-57 fighters, Russia's Su-35 "Flanker-E" has struggled in Ukraine. Originally designed to rival American fourth-generation jets, the Su-35 boasts a range of missiles, electronic warfare capabilities, and powerful weaponry.

-However, the Su-35 has faced significant losses, with Western-supplied Ukrainian defenses, including Patriot missiles, successfully downing several of these jets. Russia's fleet has reportedly suffered unsustainable losses, with Ukraine's claims suggesting that over 350 aircraft have been destroyed since early 2022.
