Discordant Accords (Part 2)

President Trump’s “mandatory request” to all regional states to join the Abraham Accords is exasperating and at stark variance to the geopolitical realities in the ME-GMER Complex. He wants KSA and Qatar to lead the process, with major states like Pakistan, Turkiye, Egypt, Jordan, and even UAE and Bahrain following suit. He even hopes that Iran would sign the Abraham Accords, some day.

Wishful thinking is obviously no substitute for hardcore strategy!

The move to link the expansion of the Abraham Accords to a potential peace deal with Iran is an attempt to achieve deeper geopolitical goals, even though the relevant strategic objectives have remained unattainable. The irrepressible PM Netanyahu might have instigated the introduction of this weird element into the already seething imbroglio that defines geopolitics in the ME today. It is blatantly illogical, utopian in nature, and makes no geopolitical or geostrategic sense at all. The US-Israel Combine has not won the war and is in no overwhelming position of superiority to start dictating terms and imposing its will on Iran, much less on the region at large. The Gulf Arab states feel miffed by the US’ preference to defend Israel rather than them against Iranian missile and drone attacks. Does the US not realistically comprehend the loss of its credibility, clout, leverage, and influence as a consequence of its rank partisanship during this unjust, misfiring military expedition? Strangely, it still remains blissfully oblivious to this evolving albeit........
