We cannot allow Holocaust denial to masquerade as “debate”
On Oct. 28, Tucker Carlson released a two-hour interview with Nick Fuentes, a white nationalist who calls the Holocaust “a hoax,” claims “the numbers don’t add up,” and has praised Adolf Hitler. Carlson did not challenge the denialism and later said he interviews “interesting people” without endorsing every view.
Days later, in a video posted to X on October 30, 2025, Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts defended him. Roberts said he “abhors” some of what Fuentes says but warned against “canceling” Carlson for giving him a platform.
That word — canceling — is the wrong word. And Heritage knows the difference.
No one is calling for Carlson’s arrest or his silence. What is being asked for is accountability from an institution that claims to stand for truth, tradition and moral clarity.
Defending the platforming of a Holocaust-denier is not free speech. It is free abdication.
Roberts is right that the First Amendment protects even vile speech. The ACLU once defended Nazis marching in Skokie. The principle is sound:........
