EDITORIAL: Gloversville should get ‘climate smart’
The question shouldn’t be whether Gloversville should become a participant in the state’s Climate Smart Communities program. It should be why has it taken the city this long to sign up?
City officials are mulling a proposal to join the program, which invites communities around the state to support green energy initiatives that could lead to cleaner air, less reliance on greenhouse gases and support studies and infrastructure projects to mitigate climate-related issues such as flooding, pollution and green space.
City officials will next discuss the proposal at a meeting on Aug. 26. But we can........
