Main Street Catskill was poorly planned
There’s that old quote, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” It applies to the current Main Street Catskill project.
The lower (Point) end of Main Street was started during the good weather. The business end was started late and continues, with no apparent end in sight, until they can repave in the spring.
There is no way things will be in an acceptable condition for the holidays or snow plowing season.
Current conditions are dangerous for the elderly or disabled as even the sidewalks have been affected. The parking is abysmal at best. Free parking bags should have been hung on the meters from the beginning of the project, if only to pay for all the car washes shoppers will need due to street conditions.
Small businesses depend on their holiday season income to see them through........
