Willing accomplices threaten democracy
Corruption flourishes when fear, ambition and blind loyalty replace integrity. A president who demands personal devotion instead of principled disagreement creates an environment where sycophants eagerly trade conscience for access, influence and power.
Rather than defending the Constitution, these loyalists defend the leader, no matter the cost to democratic institutions or public trust.
The most dangerous enablers are often not the leader but those who excuse every abuse, rationalize every ethical breach and attack anyone who dares question authority. They transform public service into an exercise in obedience, celebrating loyalty while dismissing honesty as betrayal. Facts become inconvenient, accountability becomes optional and criticism is branded as disloyalty.
