Beware of Trump’s goal to be a dictator

Since the Jan. 20 inauguration, we’ve seen some frightening signs from the man who took the oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution.

One of the most frightening is the pardoning of the Jan. 6 insurrectionists.

These people had their constitutional due process, were convicted and sentenced. They now know POTUS has their back, and they can defy the law. Pardons come easily.

Another scary development is the rise of Elon Musk to a position of power. Can the Secretary of DOGE put country ahead of his business interests? Then there are the cabinet appointments, where the only important qualification is fealty to POTUS.

How much evidence do we need that the country has elected a dangerous POTUS, anxious to have himself declared dictator?

Would anyone be surprised to see Trump, sometime during his four-year term, attempt to overturn his constitutional two-term limit in office? Or have Musk installed as his successor?

Recall his actions on Jan. 6, 2021, attempting to remain in power. Does anyone realize how close we came to losing our democracy? Is anyone concerned about how his second term can be far more dangerous than his first?

There are judges to decide lawsuits, but the legal process proceeds at a glacial pace and judges have no army. POTUS does. Historically, the courts and lawsuits are Trump’s arena, where he operates most comfortably.

Are there any GOP members of Congress with the fortitude to take him on? Beware, the dictator is consolidating his power quickly.
