4 Republicans help House Democrats pass Iran war powers resolution
The House on Thursday passed a Democratic-backed war powers resolution aimed at limiting President Trump’s military action in Iran.
The lower chamber voted 214-208 to pass the resolution, sponsored by Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.). Four Republicans joined all Democrats in supporting the measure: Reps. Tom Barrett (R-Mich.), Warren Davidson (R-Ohio), Thomas Massie (Ky.) and Brian Fitzpatrick (Pa.).
The latest push comes amid a rising death toll among U.S. service members during renewed fighting between the U.S. and Tehran. Eighteen troops have died since the U.S. and Israel launched joint strikes against Iran in February.
