Local officials in Nancy Guthrie case delayed FBI help: Patel

(NewsNation) — Four months after the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, no suspect has been named and FBI Director Kash Patel, in an exclusive interview with NewsNation, said it is up to local authorities on whether they take advantage of FBI assistance.

Authorities believe Guthrie was abducted from her Arizona home before being reported missing on Feb. 1.

Speaking with NewsNation’s Katie Pavlich, Patel said the agency was there from Day 1, offering assistance in the investigation into the disappearance of the mother of NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie.

“We showed up immediately and offered our assistance. We were not let in for four days. And that’s their choice,” Patel said of local law enforcement.
