Johnson, Allred advance to runoff for Dallas-area House seat
Rep. Julie Johnson (D-Texas) and former Rep. Colin Allred (D-Texas) are projected to head to a runoff in the Democratic primary for Texas’s newly drawn 33rd Congressional District, according to Decision Desk HQ.
Johnson succeeded Allred last cycle after the former lawmaker vacated his seat to run against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas). He later lost to Cruz in 2024.
The runoff election will take place on May 26, as neither candidate secured over 50 percent of Tuesday’s vote.
