Cellphone caught fire on British Airways flight to Las Vegas before landing

(NewsNation) — The FAA is investigating an incident from a British Airways flight to Las Vegas after a cellphone caught fire just before it landed.

Crew on board British Airways flight 271, which was headed to Las Vegas from London, reported the cellphone fire on the Monday flight. The pilot reported saying in air traffic control audio that the phone fire “scorched” the inside of the cabin, but said it was under control.
