US star Christian Pulisic fractured leg in World Cup loss to Belgium

U.S. men’s national soccer team star Christian Pulisic injured his right leg during the team’s loss to Belgium on Monday, a defeat that eliminated it from the World Cup and ended the Americans’ run on home soil.

Pulisic sustained a bone bruise and a microfracture of his tibia and fibula in his right leg during the match, a source familiar with the situation told The Associated Press.

It is unclear exactly when the winger was injured, but he collided with Belgium captain Youri Tielemans early in the second half.

Pulisic is expected to be able to resume training before AC Milan’s Serie A opener next month.
