US scrambles to avoid Ebola outbreak
It’s Thursday. Today marks the end of an era. Stephen Colbert’s last episode of “The Late Show” airs tonight at 11:35 p.m. Yesterday’s episode had *a lot* of celebrity appearances.
Oh, and yesterday I asked you to weigh in on which you think is the harder job: vice president or the White House press secretary. Nearly everyone agreed: Press secretary seems like the harder job.

New travel advisory:
The U.S. is requiring travelers who have been to some African countries over the past three weeks to go through enhanced screening at Washington Dulles International Airport because of Ebola outbreaks.
Which African countries?: Congo, Uganda and South Sudan.
What we know about the screening: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Customs and Border Protection will conduct the enhanced screening of travelers to prevent Ebola from coming to the U.S.
What we know about the Ebola outbreak: The World Health Organization (WHO) says there are more than 600 suspected cases of Ebola. The WHO has declared a public health emergency in Congo and Uganda. South Sudan borders both countries.
The CDC imposed a ban on foreign travelers earlier this week from entering the U.S. if they have been to any of those three African countries in the past 21 days.

➤ THIS IS NOT WHAT I WANT TO HEAR:
Former CDC Director Robert Redfield says he suspects the Ebola outbreak in Africa will spread across three more countries and become a “very significant pandemic.”
Redfield told NewsNation’s ‘Elizabeth Vargas Reports’: “I suspect this is going to become a very significant pandemic, probably going to leak into Tanzania, leak into southern Sudan, maybe leak into Rwanda. So, it’s going to be very disruptive.”
