Karen Bass slams Nithya Raman over homeless encampments in LA mayoral race 

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’ campaign slammed her rival, the progressive candidate Nithya Raman, quickly on Sunday after Raman was projected as advancing to a run-off election for the position.

Raman overtook Spencer Pratt, a GOP candidate and former reality television star.

Bass said Raman had not done enough to reduce homeless encampments near schools or to address other problems throughout the city, addoping a centrist-sounding message on an issue that Pratt had focused upon during his campaign.
