Warning over playset issued after toddler’s death: ‘Stop using immediately’
(NEXSTAR) — Federal regulators are urging parents to keep their children off an indoor/outdoor playset after the death of a toddler.
In an alert Thursday, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said consumers should immediately stop using the Model WPX-4 slide playset, manufactured by Wenzhou Yidian Amusement Equipment Co., Ltd.
“The playsets contain multiple openings where a child’s torso can fit through the openings but a child’s head cannot, posing a risk of serious injury and death due to head and neck entrapment hazards,” the warning read.
Details are limited, but the CPSC said it was aware of a 17-month-old child dying after “an entrapment incident.”
