Nearly 1.6 million eggs recalled over salmonella concerns: Full list of products impacted

(NEXSTAR) – Nearly 1.6 million white and brown eggs have been recalled over possible contamination, according to a voluntary recall notice shared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Specifically, the recall notice from Midwest Poultry Services explains the eggs may be contaminated with the bacterium salmonella enteritidis.

Contaminated eggs can appear normal, but when raw or undercooked, they can lead to illness. Officials in Pennsylvania say the bacterium can appear in the eggs if the hen has been infected.

Impacted by this recall are 1,589,577 cartons of white eggs and brown cage-free eggs. They were produced between June 6 and July 3 of this year, and bear sell by or best by dates between July 20, 2026, and August 17, 2026.

The eggs were shipped to multiple locations:

Foodservice and retail customers in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana

Kroger stores in Texas and Louisiana

Brookshire Grocery stores in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Mississippi
