(NEXSTAR) – It’s early September, which means Apple is preparing to unveil new technology and devices. For the most casual Apple users, the largest change coming out of Wednesday’s “Surprise and Shine” event is likely the newest iOS.

Apple revealed iOS 27 during its Worldwide Developers Conference in June and is expected to follow its usual pattern of releasing the update to general users later this month, after Wednesday’s event.

Users who participate in the Apple Developer Program and the Apple Beta Software Program have already had access to iOS 27. Tech sites and blogs have noted an improvement to Apple’s AI features and Safari under the new operating system, among other updates.

Here’s what we know about iOS 27, including which devices will be able to get it:

New features in iOS 27

Siri will be getting a major update as part of iOS 27, Apple announced in June. A “new Siri AI” – Apple Intelligence, in this case – will get a new app and become “an even more capable AI assistant with expanded intelligence to be more helpful every day.”
