Alert issued for pizza, pork rinds sold nationwide over salmonella risk

(NEXSTAR) – You may want to check your freezer and pantry. Federal regulators have issued a health alert for several pizza and pork rinds over possible salmonella contamination.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued the public health alert on Thursday, warning that multiple meat and poultry products with dairy ingredients could be contaminated.

According to the FSIS, the FDA discovered that several regulated establishments had received ingredients made with dry milk powder that had been recalled.

There have been no confirmed illnesses linked to the products, which are listed below, but the concern over salmonella infections remains.
