Importance of Strait of Hormuz

The war between the United States and Israel with Iran is ongoing and it is not clear how long it will last. The US President claimed that Iran’s military capability has been destroyed 100 percent. Donald Trump wrote that Iran has been defeated economically, militarily and in every way. Defeat was claimed, but the facts look different. Iran is much weaker militarily and economically than the United States and Israel. It is extremely difficult for Iran to compete with these two countries, but competition is being done.

Iran’s military power has been greatly damaged, but it still has one key point, and that is the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has completely closed the Strait of Hormuz and this closure has created an oil crisis in many countries. Before the war, a barrel of crude oil was being sold for about $68 to $70, but due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the price of a barrel has reached $100.

The shortage of oil has also created problems in many countries. Tehran is not ready to open the Strait of Hormuz, because it has no other options with which to confront the United States and Israel. Iran is only considering allowing the passage of ships of those countries that are not part of this war. Due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, many countries are appealing to Iran to allow their ships to pass.
