Another Holyrood election, another victory for the SNP.

After nearly 20 years in power, voters saw fit to return the SNP to government for the fifth time on the bounce, with the tantalising prospect of another tilt at independence.

Results day was one-way traffic from the off. The second seat declared was Dundee City West, the sixth was Dundee City East, and they were thundering victories for the SNP in the shape of Heather Anderson and Stephen Gethins.

It set the tone for the following hours as SNP win after SNP win rolled in.
