My View: Thanks to Title IX, women are excelling in sports worldwide

There were no opportunities for high school girls in my sports of rowing and hockey – or in most other sports. In 1961, at Baker Victory, a co-ed high school, the only sport for girls was basketball. It was the same in much of the U.S. This resulted in few college scholarships for girls.

Tom Graham, of East Aurora, pays tribute to what Title IX made possible.
