Lessons to take as Swindon Town earn Doncaster Rovers draw
Swindon Town produced a fine second-half fightback to earn a 2-2 draw on the road against automatic promotion chasing Doncaster Rovers.
Rob Street scored inside a minute and Joe Sbarra added a second to give Doncaster a commanding lead, before half-time substitutes Danny Butterworth and Joe Westley levelled the scores.
As Swindon again won a hard-fought point against one of the league’s top sides, what did we learn about them as a team?
The substitutions do it again
We have seen a number of times that Ian Holloway is able to impact and change games whilst they are underway and Doncaster felt like the biggest achievement in that area.
This was a foregone conclusion at the break, Rovers had been levels above. It was a total mismatch. Then the triple change added some dynamism and it was anybody’s game.
