Is Ollie Clarke at centre-back a solution for Swindon Town?
Ollie Clarke has taken to playing at centre-backs in recent matches and he might have shown a glimpse into his future at Swindon Town.
In his first season since joining from Mansfield Town in the summer, Clarke has been a key player for Swindon since getting over early injury struggles and becoming a true leader of the team. This can be seen from the team taking 0.89 points per game more when he is in the line-up.
However, in his last three appearances, Ian Holloway has chosen to deploy the 32-year-old as a centre-back, rather than his more natural centre-midfield. This is partly due to the unavailability of Ryan Delaney, and also it is something that Holloway has identified as something he can do to a high level, having spotted it in his first month in the role.
