How Ian Holloway has transformed Swindon Town's season

After hitting the bottom of League Two in December, Swindon Town have taken 21 points from 11 matches to move up to 16th place. How have they achieved this sudden upturn?

Swindon are now one of the form sides in the fourth tier, taking the sixth-most points in the last ten games, behind only sides in the current top eight, as they have quickly transformed into a very solid outfit.

One of the big changes has come defensively as since Colchester, Swindon have only allowed more than one xG in three matches and have only conceded more than four shots on target on two occasions, having done so in each of the three games leading into that run.

Holloway has often spoken about how the Colchester defeat was a kick-starter for abandoning a possession-based approach which was causing more problems than it was creating at the other end.

Town have been notably more compact as a team than they were earlier on in the season,........
