Council leader on "whirlwind week" of Swindon improvement plans
It has been a bit of a whirlwind week at the council, but an enjoyable one, as we have been busy delivering on our three missions to build a fairer, better and greener Swindon in order to make lasting improvements to the town.
Some of those will take many years to come to fruition, but it is pleasing to see projects coming forward that are making a real difference to people’s lives.
At the time of writing, I’m preparing to attend the official opening of The Base, where we have used £3.8m of government funding to turn the empty former Lyndhurst Centre in Park North into a vibrant and thriving youth centre for those aged 11 to 18, or up to 25 for those with additional needs.
This epitomises exactly what the fairer........
