Swindonians defend town from "worst place" Times ranking
Swindonians have rushed to defend our town from The Times’ ranking us as the worst place to live in the south west.
While Chippenham neared the top of the list at second place, Swindon managed to only reach as high as 188th.
Antonio Carpinelli said: “I'm a Swindonian born and bred, always loved it here and always will! The ones that moan if you don't like it then lump it! Nothing wrong with the town, might be something wrong with you!”
Arun Anthony said: “Swindon is a great place to live, the property price is not crazy as in Reading or Bristol. More than eight towns/cities are within 40 miles, very near to country's top tourist spots like Cotswolds, Stonehenge, Bath, Oxford, Wales.
“Beaches are within two hours of travel. Swindon is an awesome place to live but not for shoppers - I am happy with the Outlet.”
Carolyn Corr said: “I was born in Swindon in the sixties, and have lived here my entire life.
“As bad as the Town Centre is, I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.
“There are a lot of nice places which are in easy access of Swindon , and overall I find the people here are mostly friendly........
