The new series Out There, starring Martin Clunes (Doc Martin), began on ITV on Sunday (January 19) night.

The six-part drama series is about "county lines drug dealing and its escalating, insidious crime wave sweeping the British countryside".

Clunes plays Nathan Williams, a farmer confronted with dark forces creeping into his rural community.

He stars in the show alongside the likes of Louis Ashbourne Serkis (The Queen's Gambit, Mowgli), Mark Lewis Jones (Keeping Faith) and Natalia Kostrzewa (Fool Me Once).

If you've watched Out There, or are perhaps looking for a reason to, you may notice a few familiar places throughout the series.

That's because the ITV drama was filmed in Wales.

Marc Evans, the director of Out There, said he picked Wales as the filming location for the series because he is Welsh.

The city that is used in Out There is in fact Newport, according to Country & Town House.
